English 8
Reading and writing. We do it, but do we do enough of it? My primary goal for my 8th graders is to increase the volume of reading and writing that happens in our lives. This is the key to preparing you for high school.
English 8 was amazing last year, and I can't wait to get started on this year.
Since you began your study of the Elements of Fiction in 7th grade, we will focus on the author's craft in 8th grade. How do the great writers do it?
First up will be Ray Bradbury in some of his best short stories: "The Dragon," "The Fog Horn," and (maybe, if time permits) "The Veldt."
